Indra Importer is a proud family business with a rich history dating back to North India. Today, we are the leading supplier and wholesaler of traditional Indian home soft furnishings in the UK, always striving to care for our workers and customers.

Our Story

Where it All Began…

Manufacturing began in North India with our great-grandmother setting up a spinning wheel and handloom in the corner of the house to spin the yarn and make durries and rugs for our family home and neighbours within the village .
This skill was passed down in 1979 when her 3 grandsons learnt the art of weaving every day after school and began to supply the retail industry in neighbouring villages and towns in India.

Soon the production had grown so with an increase of demand they were employing more locally skilled artisans to weave the rugs and become part of the family, they were encouraged, and trained and education was provided for their children.

Expansion to The UK

Expansion to The UK…

In 1986 One of the grandsons further expanded the business by leaving his home village in India and setting up an office and premises in the west midlands catering to the b2b market

This vast experience of soft home furnishings enabled him to provide the best quality and designs to his customers at very reasonable prices.

The Present Day…

To this day we are a proud family business always striving to have care and concern for both our workers and our customers. Indra Importer is now a well-established family business and is the leading supplier and wholesaler of traditional Indian home soft furnishings in the UK.
